How strong are Glitterland needle minders?
Glitterland makes some of the strongest needle minders out there! Our needle minders use N52 neodymium magnets — the strongest grade of permanent magnet commercially available. They can hold several needles and a small pair of scissors right on your canvas.
What is hard enamel and why does it matter?
Hard enamel is a premium finish where the enamel is polished flush with the metal edges. Hard enamel is extra smooth and durable. Compared to soft enamel, it's more scratch-resistant, the colors are more vibrant, and even better, they sparkle more. ✨
How big are your needle minders?
Perfectly sized. Big enough to hold your scissors and park your needle but light and compact enough that they don’t pull on your canvas or get in the way. I took the time to get this right for each one!
Will a needle minder work through thick needlepoint canvas?
Yep! Glitterland N52 magnets grip through standard needlepoint canvas including mono canvas and interlock.
Can my needle minder hold my scissors?
Yes! A testament to how strong they are. The N52 magnet is strong enough to hold a small pair of embroidery or needlepoint scissors right on your canvas if you so choose. 💖
Are needle minders safe for my needlepoint canvas?
Yes. Needle minders are safe for standard needlepoint canvas with normal use. Just try not to leave the magnet sitting in one spot for weeks at a time on very delicate or open-weave fabric, and you're good.
Are the magnets safe around cards and electronics?
N52 magnets are serious magnets, so I’d recommend keeping your needle minders away from credit cards, hotel key cards, and magnetic stripe cards — they can erase the strip. Keep them away from pacemakers and implanted medical devices as well, and consult your doctor if you have any concerns.
How do I store my needle minder?
Store it with the two magnets connected so neither piece wanders off, and tuck it in a small pouch or tin away from magnetic stripe cards and electronics. Treat it like the little treasure it is. 💅
Do needle minders work for cross stitch and embroidery too?
Of course! Glitterland needle minders work beautifully on Aida cloth, evenweave, and linen. The N52 magnet grips cleanly through standard embroidery fabrics.
